Visual arts is the backdrop of Peter Glassford’s career in design and the role it plays. A maker from the Tex-Mex border, Glassford has resided and worked in Mexico for the majority of his career, principally as a furniture designer, influenced by the crafts and materials the country is so well-known for. This influence is the foundation, the lodestar of all his creative endeavors.

Glassford formed the design factory Glassford Moncada in 2016 with his wife Isabel Moncada, a lighting designer. Based in Guadalajara, a natural collaboration flourished as both designers focused on traditional craft endemic to Jalisco. Glassford Moncada collaborates with talented artisans from the region, joining their work with innovative techniques, art, and technology.
